Active FX™ and Deep FX™ Fractional CO2 Laser

Conquer Wrinkles, Scars and Sun Damage in One Treatment

Active FX™ and Deep FX™ are both revolutionary CO2 lasers from Lumenis (the originators of CO2 technology) with a unique patented Ultrapulse™ technology to lessen side effects and downtimes of a traditional CO2 laser. Total FX™ is a revolutionary fractional treatment that combines DeepFX™and ActiveFX™ procedures for total solutions in one treatment with minimal downtime for treatment of sun damage.

What are Active FX™, Deep FX™ and Total FX™?

Both the Active FX™ and Deep FX™ lasers are powerful CO2 fractional lasers that can tackle a large variety of skin concerns. The Deep FX™ treatment is better for treating wrinkles, scars, acne scars and similar “deeper” lesions. It also can be used on darker ethnicities. The Active FX™ treatment is better for dyschromia (pigment, sun damage) and similar superficial lesions.

Total FX™ is a revolutionary fractional treatment that combines DeepFX™and ActiveFX™ procedures for total solutions in one treatment with minimal downtime. In just one treatment, TotalFX™ stimulates collagen growth that can improve the appearance of scars, wrinkles, fine lines, tone, texture, and pigmentation.

Am I a Candidate?

You may be a good candidate for Active FX™ and Deep FX™ if you’re searching for a solution for sun damage, wrinkles or scars with little to no downtime

What is a Typical Treatment Like?

The Active FX™ treatment uses a high-energy beam of laser light to fractionate and resurface part of the skin while leaving small “columns” of untouched skin, resulting in faster and safer healing. With a Deep FX™ treatment, the laser penetrates deeper into your skin to improve deep wrinkles and lines. Combining Active and Deep FX treatments for the best possible results is called Total FX™.

What Results Will I See?*

Benefits of the treatment include reduced deep wrinkles and fine lines, improved skin tone and texture, removal of brown spots, sun spots, and sun damage, stimulation of new collagen productionMany effects become visible within 10 days, whereas others – such as new collagen formation and tightening – build gradually and become visible over 3 months. You should expect to continue to see improvement for up to six months following treatment.

Is There Any Downtime?*

During the procedure, you will feel a warm sensation as the laser is applied. Immediately following treatment, your skin will be warm and will appear as though you were sunburned. Side effects will include erythema/redness of the skin, swelling, peeling, tightening, sensitivity, of which resolves usually within 10 days depending on the strength of the treatment, Active FX™ being shorter in duration. Risks include milia (small white bumps), reactivation of a cold sore (antiviral medication prevents risk), hyperpigmentation, hypo-pigmentation, or scarring.

What is the difference between Active FX™ / Deep FX™ and Fraxel™ Laser?

Lumenis is the creator of CO2 technology, and the first fractional CO2 available with reduced downtime and dramatic results, and thus superior to Fraxel.
