Tixel® Skin Resurfacing offers dramatic smoother, even-toned skin with effective thermo-mechanical energy.

What is Tixel®?

Tixel® is the first ever non-laser, non energy-based device, to dramatically increase rejuvenation of the skin. Tixel® resurfaces the tissue and triggers collagen production to give you dramatically more youthful, brighter skin with minimal downtime. This customizable treatment uses thermo-mechanical ablation technology to provide intensive skin improvements. Tixel® works on the face and body so you can achieve smooth, even skin almost anywhere, even in delicate areas such as around the eyes.

How Does Tixel® Work?

Unlike lasers, ultrasound, or radiofrequency methods, Tixel® uses thermo-mechanical technology to administer heat to the skin. It uses tiny metal cones that generate heat up to 400 degrees to stimulate collagen production and cell turnover. Tixel® creates small focus areas of treatment in the skin. Surrounding skin helps these areas heal, minimizing downtime while still giving you smoother, more youthful results.

The Tixel® system allows your provider to customize the depth of your treatment to address your concerns. Lines, wrinkles, and acne scarring may require deeper treatment, while pigmentation and sun damage can respond to less intensive therapy. Along with the face, Tixel® can be used on areas like the chest, abdomen, arms, and neck.

What is a Typical Tixel® Treatment Like?

You may have a numbing cream applied to your skin to minimize discomfort. The Tixel® applicator will deliver pulses of thermal energy to the skin. Most sessions last 30 to 90 minutes, depending on the size of the treatment area.

What Results Will I See With Tixel®?

By customizing the intensity and depth of the treatment, Tixel® can focus on many types of skin concerns. Types of skin issues that respond to Tixel® include:

  • Elasticity
  • Uneven skin tone
  • Lines and deep wrinkles
  • Acne scars
  • Texture and pore size
  • Sun damage

While results can appear within a week or two after your first treatment, most people will need several sessions to achieve their best results. Less intensive treatment may require more sessions but less downtime.

Is There Any Downtime With Tixel®?

After treatment, the treated area may feel warm and sunburned for a few hours. Redness can last a few days, and you may see some barely noticeable small scabs form before flaking off. The skin recovers entirely within about a week of treatment. You will need to use good sun protection for several weeks following treatment.

Am I a Good Candidate for Tixel®?

The customizable features of Tixel® make it appropriate for almost all skin types and tones. Most people make good candidates for Tixel®. If you have an active skin condition, Tixel® might have to wait until this resolves. It is not recommended if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
